Frequently asked questions.
How do I start the process?
It all begins with an order. Place your order directly from the site, and Kelly Kate Design will be notified once the order is processed. Kelly Kate will then reach out to you to begin the design process, ensuring every detail is tailored to your vision. Your custom piece awaits—crafted thoughtfully, made just for you.
Do I need to know what fabric I want before I order?
No! Fabric procurement is part of our design services. We begin showing fabric selections only after your order is placed to ensure a tailored and focused experience. If you wish to explore fabric options beforehand to find something you like, please refer to the Fabric Options selection available for browsing.
How do I know which material to pick?
When selecting fabric for high-traffic areas like kitchens and dining rooms, we strongly encourage choosing performance fabrics. These materials are designed to be highly durable, resisting spills, stains, and the wear and tear that comes from repeated use. For chair seats, especially in active spaces, performance fabrics are our top recommendation to ensure longevity and maintain appearance.
Fabrics such as linens, cottons, and other non-performance options tend to be thinner and more prone to tearing over time. These can work well on chair backs or headboards, where the fabric experiences less stress and movement. However, if you opt for non-performance fabric on chair seats or other heavily used surfaces, please be aware that the fabric may not withstand regular use.
Kelly Kates Design Studio disclaims responsibility for any damage that occurs to fabric once the product is delivered and in your home, particularly if non-performance fabrics are chosen for high-use areas. Choosing the right material ensures your custom pieces remain beautiful and functional for years to come.
How long does the process take?
The timeline for your custom piece largely depends on how quickly you select your fabrics. Generally, once the fabric order is placed, production takes about 4 to 6 weeks. The most common cause of delays is fabric availability; if a fabric is on backorder, I will inform you promptly so you can choose an alternative. I prioritize moving orders through efficiently, so you can be confident that your piece is always in progress whenever all materials are on hand.
What does Shipping look like?
At Kelly Kates Design Studio, we provide both White Glove Shipping and Freight services, thoughtfully chosen based on the size and quantity of your custom pieces, as well as your location. Delivery timelines may vary with each order to accommodate these factors. Before your items leave our workshop, we will supply a clear estimate of the expected delivery schedule to ensure a seamless and transparent experience.
What’s your Return Policy?
Return Policy and Warranty Information
All custom pieces created by Kelly Kates Design Studio are made exclusively for you and your vision. Due to the personalized nature of these items, returns are not accepted. Since these pieces are unique and cannot be resold, allowing returns would result in a loss on our end.
We stand behind the quality of our work and guarantee your item against any damage incurred during shipping or upon delivery. If you notice any damage or concerns, please notify us within 24 hours of receiving your order. After this period, Kelly Kates Design Studio is not responsible for any damage sustained once the product is in your home.
Please Note:
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear. Our products are crafted from real wood, which means they may scuff or chip if not handled with care. If an item arrives with scuffs or chips, we will gladly have it returned and repaired. However, any wear or damage that occurs after delivery through regular use is considered normal wear and tear and is not covered under our guarantee.
